Who likes saving money? Who likes making delicious fancy drinks at home that are low fat, quick and easy, only 4 ingredients and super tasty? Oh you?! Then you've come to the right place because this homemade vegan frappuccino is your new favorite way to wake up in the morning!
Spring and summer are quickly taking over and nice cold morning wakeups are IN. Move over boring coffee, there's a new drink in town. And I bet it can be made faster than you can brew a pot of coffee. Plus, it has toasted marshmallows. So there's that.
So what's the secret to this frosty beverage?
Silk's NEW Rich Dark Chocolate and Walnut Nutchello! (this milk has been discontinued) Chocolate dairy free milk! It looks totally naughty right? Nope. In one cup, this vegan frappuccino is low in fat and lower in sugar than the typical coffee shop version.
The key is the frozen chocolate milk cubes, it gives it the creaminess you don't get when using water based cubes. That way you are only getting that delicious flavor from the beverage and not watering it down with ice.
It's really simple:
Freeze, throw cubes in the blender with 3 other ingredients and blend. You can get fancy like I did and top with whipped topping, chocolate sauce and toasted marshmallows, but you don't have to.
You're missing out if you don't, but I'm sure your taste buds will forgive you eventually. Not really. So just make it.
4 Ingredient Homemade Chocolate Espresso Frappuccino (vegan)
Ingredients
- 18 ice cubes made from chocolate dairy free milk , about 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons
- ¾ cup unsweetened Cashew or Coconut milk or canned light coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder or vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons finely ground espresso
Optional toppings:
- Melted chocolate drizzle melt your favorite chocolate
- Coco whip use this recipe or buy So Delicious Coco Whip
- Toasted marshmallows see note
Instructions
- Place frozen chocolate milk cubes, cashew/coconut milk, espresso and vanilla in a blender and blend! Use the tamper if you went low on the milk to get things moving. Top with desired toppings and try not to dive in face first.
Notes
- You can use more or less espresso to fit your desired taste. You can also use more or less milk depending on how thick you want it.
- Use a creamy milk for the ultimate creamy flavor, I tried it with both cashew and light canned coconut milk.
- Freeze chocolate milk ice cubes.
- Toast marshmallows by holding them in tongs and using a lighter or stove burner slowly roast until brown.
- Nutritional Information is not including the optional toppings

Try not to dive in face first...ha! This looks INSANE!!! Wow, Sophia! I've never seen that milk before, but it sounds dangerous...especially paired with that melted chocolate AND marshmallows! Looks amazing! <3

Ha! I tried but lost that battle. LOL. Thanks so much lovely lady! It's a fun beverage by Silk, and what I love is that it isn't overly sweet. it's perfect!
Ginny McMeans
Only 4 ingredients and so delicious sounding. I love Nutchello too and the idea of making ice cubes with it is great.
veggiesdontbite
Thanks Ginny!! Yes, ice cubes with the drink itself is always my favorite!
Jolina - The Unlikely Baker
This looks so good and decadent but good for you. Nice! I've only tried Silk's soy milk I think it's time to explore the rest of the line 🙂 And those toasted marshmallows might not actually reach the drink as I eat them on the way to the glass lol
veggiesdontbite
Thanks Jolina! I mean, it isn't a veggie but it sure as heck beats the traditional Starbucks version!! I may have nibbled a few marshmallows on the way to the jar. Oops.
Michele
omg..... I must find this new product ASAP, seriously! That is the most enticing photograph of a chocolate drink I have ever seen! And its vegan? I can serve it to my sister! WIN! WIN WIN! Thanks for sharing!
veggiesdontbite
Haha!! Thank you Michele! The funny thing is that this drink is perfect in it's level of sweetness! The Nutchello is amazing because it's flavorful and sweet but not TOO sweet. You can drink this whole thing without being too overwhelmed in sweet flavor. It's awesome! Hope you try it!
Suchi @ elegant meraki
Oh my! Not a vegan but lactose intolerant. This is the perfect drink for summers. Those marshmallows look awesome.
veggiesdontbite
Thanks Suchi! And yes, lactose intolerant friendly dessert right here!!

Oh Wow! I'm not vegan, but this is all going on my shopping list this weekend! Amazing!
My daughter loves Silk ... but we haven't tried the Nutchello yet ... watch out here we come!
veggiesdontbite
The Nutchello is great! I love it because it isn't too sweet. The people that expect a super rich and overly sweet drink are surprised at how light it really is. Perfect because you can drink the whole thing without being overwhelmed by sugar! Let me know if you try Nutchello!

This looks amazing. I am exploring and trying vegan recipes myself. It is amazing how many options are available. Silk makes a lot of good products and this espresso drink needs to find a way into my repertoire.
veggiesdontbite
Thank you Peter! Isn't it amazing how much there is now?! I love it. You really don't miss much in the dairy department these days with all the amazing plant based options!!

I'm sitting here eating a chocolate granola bar (FOR REAL) while looking at this and I totally want to trade places with that drink! That is the best damn looking thing I've seen in a long time....everything from the super dark rich chocolate, to the drizzle down the glass, to the toasted marshmallows. HOLY MOLY!! I can't wait to make this! You know I am! Looks insane woman!
veggiesdontbite
Hahahaha!!! I'll dunk that granola bar into my drink!! LOL! Thank you so much sweet friend. The toasted marshmallows were a fun addition, I loved toasting them although I may have some left on my burner. Oops. I figure the messier the better!!

veggiesdontbite
Haha Natalie!! Thank you so much!! I don't know if I quite put them to shame but I will say that it's much yummier to me than the sugar filled who knows what drinks there. LOL.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Yesss <3 The chocolate walnut is the BEST!!!!!!!!!! (I was creating with mine yesterday 😉 It was rather..delicious!)
veggiesdontbite
Isn't it amazing?! I love them all though. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Trish
Oh man, this looks darn amazing. I can see me def making this for Father's Day as a lovely wake up surprise for my husband ... and since I'm making it for him I'd have to make one for myself and my son 😉 So freeze this new silk product in ice cube trays until frozen, right? And then grind some fresh coffee beans and use the powder or brew first before tossing into blender? I'm sorry to ask but I don't want to screw up this masterpiece! Can't wait to make this! And the only reason I'm not making this sooner is because my husband and I are trying to lose some excess pounds by the summer lol.
veggiesdontbite
Thank you Trish!! Your husband will be a lucky guy!! And of course you should make extra 😉 So yes, freeze this Nutchello, then blend the frozen ice cubes with the other stuff. I just put ground espresso powder in! I buy it ground already. But if you wanted to you could use brewed coffee instead of the cashew or coconut milk. It won't be as creamy but it would still be good! I hope you enjoy!
